Who is a shaman in the modern world? Ancient wisdom, the power of consciousness, and self-discovery as a path to transforming the world around us.
Shamanism — Changing the World by Changing Yourself
We experience and understand the world through our own perception, experience, and consciousness. Everything we see, feel, and experience is reflected in our consciousness. From a shamanic perspective, influencing the external world therefore begins with working on ourselves.
A shaman seeks to understand how attention, thoughts, and inner states shape the way we perceive and interact with the world. When a person changes their attitude, thinking, and behavior, their relationship with the world around them changes as well.
The Human Being — A Reflection of the Universe
From a shamanic perspective, human beings are an inseparable part of nature and the universe. We do not merely live in this world; we are also a reflection of it.
This is why understanding ourselves is, to some extent, a way of understanding the world. The better we understand our own fears, desires, instincts, and thoughts, the better we can understand what happens around us.
The central idea of this approach is simple: if you want to influence the world, you must first begin with yourself.
Who Is a Shaman Today?
Today, a shaman can be understood as someone who seeks a deeper connection with the world through self-discovery and personal transformation.
Along this path, shamans use rituals, meditation, dream observation, and the exploration of different states of consciousness. In many shamanic traditions, plants, fungi, and entheogens have played an important role as tools supporting spiritual practices.
Yet the essence of shamanism lies neither in rituals nor in these tools. The true instrument is the individual — their consciousness, attention, and ability to transform themselves.
A shaman transforms themselves and, in doing so, transforms the way they see the world, interact with it, and influence it.
